R. Gerry Fabian

9/1/2025

Hand Crafted

After watching
the magic
of origami flowers
flow from
such supple soft
fingers,
love
leaps.

The Initial Signs

A Canadian high-pressure mass
alerts the August dogs.
It sends them sniffing
the ground more intently.
The pond geese preen
and spread their feathers.
The neighborhood children
yell and scream with more frenzy.
The farmers pull on
oil-stained sweatshirts
to begin the mornings.
The old women search
for soup and stew recipes.
