Enough
I dreamed
It was enough.
The upturned palms,
The clasped hands,
Fingers interlocking like
Root filaments, like fascia.
The letting go.
The anger.
The wishing.
The world was green
Where green should be,
And the fire and deserts
Burned in their rightful homes.
And our breath was not separate
From the exhalation of mist over the trees,
Or the deep inhale of the outgoing tide.
Intention, not a road paved,
But a branching of paths like
Rivers and veins,
Weaving and meandering,
Currents rich with voices.
And I woke up,
And dreamed
That we could rest
When we were weary,
And wake in time,
Enough.
